White Elephant & Yankee Swap Host Board

White Elephant Generator Turn Order Picker & Live Steal Tracker

Unlike Secret Santa, White Elephant is all about turn order and stealing! Randomize who picks #1 through #N, track unwrapped gifts on screen, and automatically lock gifts after 3 steals.

Step 1: Randomize Player Turn Order (#1 to #N)

Freeze Rule:

How to Run a Smooth White Elephant Gift Exchange

Keep your holiday party moving fast without arguments over how many times that espresso maker has been stolen.

1. Draw Fair Turn Numbers

Paste everyone's name to generate an unbiased #1 to #N sequence. Player #1 goes first to unwrap a gift, and by classic rules, gets the final swap at the very end!

2. Track Steals on Screen

Log each unwrapped gift on the host board. Whenever a player steals a popular present, tap their name to update ownership and increment the steal counter.

3. Enforce the 3-Steal Freeze

Once a gift hits 3 steals (or 2 steals in fast mode), our tracker marks it as FROZEN so everyone knows it is permanently off-limits for the rest of the game.

White Elephant FAQ

Common White Elephant Questions

Why does Player #1 get a final turn at the end?▾

When Player #1 picks at the beginning of the game, no gifts are open yet—so they have zero chance to steal. Giving Player #1 one final chance to swap their gift for any non-frozen gift after the last player finishes makes the #1 spot the most coveted number in the draw!

Can someone immediately steal back the gift that was just taken from them?▾

No! Under official White Elephant rules, "no immediate steal-backs" (no U-turns) prevents two people from trading the same item back and forth. If Bob steals Alice's gift, Alice must either open a new wrapped gift or steal a different item from someone else.
