Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 7, 2026

At AnonSanta (accessible via anonsanta.com), one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we do and do not collect and how it is used.

1. Zero Personal Data Storage

Unlike traditional gift exchange platforms, AnonSanta is built on a zero-knowledge, client-side architecture:

  • We do not require user registration, passwords, or account creation.
  • We do not collect or store your or your participants' email addresses or telephone numbers.
  • Participant names and generated pairings are computed locally inside your web browser via JavaScript. The resulting pairings are serialized into the URL hash fragment (#data=...). By design of web standards, URL hash fragments are never transmitted to web servers or stored in access logs.

2. Log Files and Web Analytics

Like most websites, we use standard server log files and Google Analytics 4 to understand general traffic trends (such as browser type, operating system, pages visited, and referring URLs). This data is aggregated, anonymized, and does not contain personally identifiable information (PII).

3. Cookies & Advertising

We may partner with third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdSense) to display non-intrusive advertisements that help fund the free hosting of this service:

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting AboutAds.info or Google Ads Settings.

4. Data Security

Because we do not store participant names, gift lists, or matches on our database servers, there is no centralized database susceptible to data breaches. The security of your event link relies on who you choose to share the private URL with.

5. Children's Information

AnonSanta does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personally identifying information, please contact us immediately, and we will take necessary measures.

6. Contact Us

If you have any questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, please do not hesitate to contact us at: [email protected].
